NURS 34508 - Nursing Care of Adults and Clinical Practicum I 8 Credit(s) : 5 Lecture Hour(s) , Other Hours: 3 hours clinical Prerequisite(s): Full acceptance into the Prelicensure BSN Introduces students to use of the nursing process in the care of adults with health alterations (acute or chronic) that require medical or surgical intervention. A systems approach is used to discuss the effects of illness on the individual and the family. Concepts of health promotion, harm reduction, health education, evidence-based practice, and intra and interprofessional collaboration will be integrated throughout the course. Clinical experience allows students the opportunity to apply theoretical concepts and implement safe care to diverse adult clients.
