NURS 41563 - Population Health 3 Credit(s) : 3 Lecture Hour(s) Prerequisite(s): Full acceptance into the Prelicensure BSN or RN to BSN Advanced Placement Track This course introduces concepts of population and community health nursing. The course emphasizes health promotion, risk reduction, and disease and injury prevention based on determinants of health. Concepts to be addressed include: lifestyle issues, cultural, genetic, economic, and environmental factors. The course will explore impact of local, national and global factors on health of individuals, communities, and populations. Clinical experiences include areas generally specializing in needs of the community health patient such as clinics and private offices, home health care agencies, outpatient centers, shelters, public schools, daycare and other various settings in the community.
