NURS 44508 - Nursing Care of Adults and Clinical Practicum II 8 Credit(s) : 4 Lecture Hour(s) , Other Hours: 4 hours clinical Prerequisite(s): Full acceptance in the BSN or LPN-BSN program Client-centered care of adults experiencing acute, chronic, complex illness, and building on knowledge and skills learned in previous courses. Emphasis is placed on the prioritization and decision-making processes of nursing care and the nursing responsibilities associated with translating, integrating, applying medical/surgical management; evaluation of outcomes; health promotion; and support for individuals and families experiencing acute and complex health problems. Health issues related to social determinants of health will be addressed. Interprofessional collaboration will be emphasized. Clinical experiences provide students with opportunities to apply theoretical concepts and implement safe care to diverse adult clients.
