Focus on the basics of reading with the aim of preparing students for college-level work. This course may not be counted toward a major or minor in English or toward the general education program or be taken for credit after achieving a Reading ACT of 19 or better (or equivalent placement test) or after taking any other English course with the exception of ENGL 01153 Basic English.
