Basic principles of heredity including: kinds of gene action, random segregation, independent assortment, physical and chemical basis for heredity, epistasis, sex linkage, and multiple alleles. Includes introduction to Estimated Breeding Values, population genetics, and quantitative inheritance in the development of breeding programs that result in livestock improvement.
