Bachelor of Liberal Arts Degree - Plan of Study
The Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree consists of a 35-hour General Education requirement, 29 general electives, and a 56-hour major. The major is divided into an orientation course, a 24-hour core and a 31-hour concentration. The core consists of four “concept areas”: Creative Expression; Digital Literacy; Effective Communication; and Global Understanding. Students take 6 hours in each concept area of the core.
The available concentrations are Art, Communication, English, Modern Languages, and Music. The Communication, English, and Modern Languages concentrations each include two or three emphases (of which the student chooses one). Each concentration consists of 31 hours, at least 22 of which must be at the 30000 or 40000 level.
