The Associate of Science in Engineering Mathematics degree consists of 35 hours of directed General Education courses, 16 hours of mathematics courses, 11 hours of core engineering courses, and 3 hours of core physics. This degree may serve as a terminal degree for students or as intermediate degree for students enrolled in the mathematics baccalaureate program. 

All hours earned at the 10000-level or above in satisfying the Associate of Science degree may be used toward a baccalaureate degree. The requirements for the Associate of Science in Engineering Mathematics are: 

Total Hours: 65 hours


General Education Required Courses: 35 hours


Composition: 6 Credit Hours


Mathematics: 3 Credit Hours


Communication: 3 Credit Hours


Humanities: 3 Credit Hours


  • Any literature course
  • Any philosophy course
  • Any foreign language course

Fine Arts: 3 Credit Hours


Choose one of the following:

Social Science: 9 hours


Science with labs: 8 Credit Hours


Choose one of the following: 3 hours

Choose one of the following: 3 hours

Core Mathematics Requirement: 16 hours


Core Physics Requirement: 3 hours
