The ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE IN AGRICULTURE requires 60 semester hours and offers coursework leading to supportive employment opportunities in the agriculture industry. Students completing this degree can use the earned credit toward a Bachelor of Science degree in the Agriculture major.
Associate of Science in Agriculture Degree
The Associate of Science in Agriculture degree consists of 35 hours of General Education courses, 10 hours of Core Agriculture courses, 9 hours of agriculture major supportive electives, and 6 elective credit hours. This degree may serve as a terminal degree for students or as intermediate degree for students enrolled in the agriculture baccalaureate program.
All hours earned at the 10000-level or above in satisfying the Associate of Science degree may be used toward a baccalaureate degree. The requirements for the Associate of Science in Agriculture degree are:
Eight hours from two 3-hour lecture courses with associated 1-hour labs, or two 4-hour courses with integrated labs chosen from the following disciplines:
All elective courses must be at the 10000-level or above.
Nine hours of electives must be selected from courses that begin with the following prefixes: AGEC, AGEN, AGRI, AGRO, ANSC, BIOL, BIOS, CEMB, ENSC, ENTO, EPID, GENE, MBIM, PHAR, BIOC, CHEM, ENTO, ASTR ENSC GEOL GEOS PHSC, HORT, MATH, STAT or PHYS.
Six elective hours can be any 10000-level or above course selected by the student and his/her academic advisor.
