PHED 23243 - Introduction to ESports

Designed to introduce students to the emerging field of esports, or video game competitions. Students will learn the basics of the industry, game genres, platforms, teams, events, leagues, sponsors and professional opportunities. The course will also address the social, cultural and ethical aspects of esports, as well as the skills and strategies needed to participate in them effectively and responsibly. The course will combine theoretical classes with practical activities, such as match analysis, simulations, debates, and group projects.
